I have been in the legal field for over 35 years, 25 of them being in private practice. My career began in 1979 as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office handling traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases throughout Cook County. I also prosecuted numerous serious felonies, including sex offenses, drug arrests and Murder at the main Criminal Courthouse at 26th Street and California. In 1985, I moved to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office where I held the position of Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.
I began practicing as a defense attorney in 1987, working as a solo practitioner until the present. Over the years, I have tried several hundred cases to juries and judges. I have also tried death penalty cases to verdict and was certified as lead attorney for these types of cases. In Illinois, the death penalty was recently abolished, but my experience with these types of cases will be invaluable to your case.
Currently, I am a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and I am past president and current member of the DuPage County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
My practice is limited to state criminal defense work, representing clients throughout the Chicagoland area and all surrounding counties throughout northeastern Illinois.
Although I remain a solo practitioner, I have excellent and friendly support staff with an easily accessible office located in Oakbrook Terrace IL.
